High school - Healthcare Careers Discovery Program

The Healthcare Careers Discovery Program offers students the opportunity to immerse themselves in interactive learning experiences in our Simulation Center. During the week-long summer session, learners participate in a combination of workshops and simulation scenarios exposing them to a variety of clinical skills and healthcare professions.

Program Highlights:
  • First on the Scene emergency response training with AHA Heartsaver CPR AED & First Aid skills and certification. These skills will be called up throughout the week as students participate in a variety of simulated scenarios.
  • Mock Code (cardiac arrest) Simulations
  • Hospital Based Careers Panel featuring speakers from a variety of disciplines and areas of expertise.
  • Behind the Scenes Hospital Tour
  • Resume Writing and Mock Interviews
Examples of Specific Workshops & Simulations:
  • Infection Prevention
  • Physical Exam and Assessment
  • Injections, IVs and Bleeding Control
  • Obstetrics - Childbirth
  • Crisis Intervention Prevention Concepts
Leadership Skills:
  • Effective Communication
  • Group dynamics and teamwork
  • Problem Solving/Critical Thinking
  • Prioritization and Delegation
  • Collaboration
  • Compassion

Participants will be chosen through a competitive application process and receive a Certificate of Completion at the end of the program.

Cost of the complete program is $975.00

ADVANCED Healthcare Careers Discovery Program

The ADVANCED Program is open only to those students who have successfully completed the introductory Healthcare Careers Discovery Program. Now that a career in healthcare is more certain, participants will engage in focused activities including advanced skills and simulations, topical research, working in teams and observational experiences based on availability due to Covid protocols.

Eligibilty:

Our ADVANCED Healthcare Careers Discovery Program is open only to high school students who have completed the Introductory program.

Tuition:

Cost of the complete program is $975.00.

August 3 - August 7, 2026 ~ 8:30 AM - 3:30 PM (Hours may vary)
